Sarles, North Dakota
The Calvin Presbyterian and the Sarles Lutheran congregation hold their Sunday worship services together. These services rotate monthly from one building to the other and held in the pattern and tradition of each congregation. Christmas and Easter are rotated between the two congregations. Doing what we need to do as good stewards of what God has given us, we use the Calvin Fire Hall for midweek Bible Study and Confirmation Class since it is heated all the time during the winter months.

The Sarles Presbyterian Church was built in 1906. This was the first church to be built in Sarles and also had the largest congregation. In 1990 Sarles Presbyterian consolidated with the Presbyterian Churchs in Calvin and Hannah and the Sarles Lutheran Church. They became North Parish.

We were recently reminded in a message that everything done with the right spirit has "Kingdom Application" This chainsaw carving was done by Myrle Aronson. A gift to each family along with the gift of Myrle's testimony of what "the old rugged cross" meant to him.

The Sarles Lutheran Church was moved to this location in 1955. It was known as Immanuel Lutheran Church at Dresden, ND before it was purchased and moved.

The pristine sanctuary of the Sarles Lutheran Church is untouched by time. The sanctuary is banked on all sides with stained glass windows.

"At the keyboard" at Calvin and Sarles are our gifted organists Bev Gage and Darlene Aronson.

First Presbyterian Church
Hannah, North Dakota
The first attempt to start a Presbyterian Church in Hannah was in 1890. The original church burned in 1922 and the new building was completed in 1923. That same year Hannah became yoked with the Calvin and Sarles Presbyterian Churches and a pastor was shared. First Presbyterian Church celebrated 100 years in October of 1990.

The Presbyterian Church in Hannah conducts its own worship service due to the distance from the other two congregations.  The willingness to change is reflected in worshipping during the winter months  in a non-traditional setting.  The Hannah Congregation worships from the end of November to Easter in the local Cafe/Grocery Store,  the center for all activity in Hannah.

We feel like we are on the "cutting edge" of coffee-shop ministry.
